Amazing Things

I was recently inspired by this post to make a list of things I wanted to do.  I really liked Leonie’s list because she had all sorts of things on her list, big and small.  So, here is my list of things I want to do:

go to japan*be self-employed* publish a book* have my palms read*get a really amazing henna tattoo* dye my hair an unnatural color*get my nose pierced* vintage shop in Springfield, MO* make guerilla art* work in a book store* take a belly dancing class* paint a wall with chalkboard paint* find the perfect name for myself* have a martini* photograph an abandoned building* teach an in-person art class*live like a gypsy*see 100+ bands live*learn to sew*own a claw-foot bathtub*have a tea party*make a video about my life*finish The Artist’s Way* Start a sketching circle*go to the Pacific Ocean*live in a different city*own a two-story house*adopt*

While I was making my awesome to-do list, I also took note of some things I have already done that are pretty cool (at least in my opinion).

lived on my own for six months*taught an online workshop (two now, hehe)*sold things I’ve made online*taught myself to knit*visited Salem, MA*yoga*took a college class*gone to Lollapalooza*worked as a photographer*covered a wall with cork board*started a blog*dressed like a gypsy* worn a 2-piece bathing suit*own a vintage car*planted an herb garden*became a gadget guru*lived in a home with glass doorknobs* watched a sunrise*learned to draw faces*went to a Dr. Sketchy’s session* painted my walls crazy colors*became a mixed-media mad scientist*made many great mixed tapes*

I also forgot to put that I have been to 25/50 states in 25 years.  I want to do the other 25 in the next 25 years.  What does your dream list look like?

It has finally stopped raining here.  I actually got a chance to go outside and photograph the journal pages I’ve been working on lately.  I will post them tomorrow (they are already up on my Flickr if you want a sneak peek).  I am feeling pretty good today–I got a haircut and I’m wearing a new dress.  I was supposed to go on a photo shoot with a friend, but we couldn’t quite get our schedules aligned.  Well, maybe sometime soon.  So, I went outside and did some art journaling on the patio table.  I even got to play with my spray paints!  I hope you are having an amazing day, too!

I could just take your ‘want to do’ list and claim it as mine! Honestly, it was kind of … spooky (no pun intended!) ; )
I needed a prompt tonight and it seems like a good one to start!

Wonderful and inspiring list, Spooky! Love your AJ pages, too.

I meant to ask, did you make this AJ, or is it a purchase (and if so, from where?) I love the musical washi tape. I’ve been ordering some, but haven’t found music. Is it Tim Holtz?

Thanks! This is a store bought journal. I did a post about it here. And, yes, that’s Tim Holtz tape. I got it at hobby lobby. it’s in a two pack, the other tape looks like dictionary pages. I love it! The only bad thing about this journal is that it has perforated pages. I’m afraid they’ll eventually start to fall out, so I’ve been putting tape over all the perforations lately. I should probably start using regular masking tape to save money, but I like the way the patterned tape looks.

Enjoyed this post! Good job on recent journal pages! I”m glad you are putting what you think/ what you want to do ‘out there’. I’m nearly 47 years old (!!!) and this is why I wear blue toenail polish. I know it sounds silly but if I don’t do it now, when will I do it? When I’m 97? Probably not. So I’m gonna do it now, not wait. I’m glad you put thought into what you want to do . Now. Not waiting.

Haha, I don’t see anything wrong with blue toenails at any age! I am stuck in retail, so I might be a little old lady before I can have my funky colored hair, but that’s okay, because grey hair is probably easier to dye than brown! I think you should be as authentically you as possible, no matter what your age!

I have a list of “50 things to do before I’m 50” and I like some of your ideas I might borrow some of them, one of my “Bucket list” is to see all 50 states of the USA so I can relate to your see 25 in the next 25 yrs!

Maybe I should make mine into a pretty page to inspire myself!
    thank you for sharing
    hugs
