About

Hello there. Would you like to know a little about me? Well, I’m 25 and I live in Southeast Missouri. I have a husband named Travis who gave me the nickname Spooky. My real name is Ashley, but I’ve always felt it doesn’t suit me. I work full time selling cell phones. I have two cats, Iggy and Lenore, and a very shy bunny named Hiro. I’m pretty quiet until you get to know me. I love music. I love technology, old and new. So, this is what I look like:

curiouser and curiouser

and this is a map of my brain:

any questions?

Please note, this isn’t meant to be much of a personal blog. I will mostly post about arts and crafts. You’re not likely to hear me go on and on about politics (hate ’em) or my job (it’s okay most of the time) or my lousy boyfriend (don’t have one!). I don’t care for drama.

I love your blog. I live in Southern Australia and aRT journal every day. I have a cat named Rasin and a dog named Fevola. I too used dyed paper towels but i use food coloring as the dye as it is the cheapest dye i can find. Keep up your blog I just love it. YELLOW HUGS TO YOU Natalie

Hello to you and your pets!
Thanks for stopping by and commenting. I bet food coloring works really well. I think I have some around here too. If I ever run through my stash of dyed towels, I’ll try food coloring the next batch.

I LOVE the ‘bubbles of your mind’ too. As soon as I saw it I thought, ‘Good Grief, that’s exactly what I need to do to help make sense of my crazy mind!’ – so I smiled when I saw this comment.
I’ll have to email a pic when it’s done
PS. Don’t they say ‘great minds think alike?’ 😉

Glad to meet ya, Spooky. Love your art journal techniques. My son and his family live in Camdenton, MO. You must be close to Joplin.

Hi Sharon. Thanks for stopping by! Actually, I live in southeast MO, so I’m pretty far away from Joplin. Are you enjoying the Into the Groove class? I would like to take it, but 21 Secrets keeps me pretty busy.

my question is, what name do you feel suits you? it’s never too late to redefine yourself! 🙂

    • January 9, 2011 9:24 pm

Oh, that’s the thing, I can’t decided what name really suits me. I think I’d like an old fashioned classic sort of name like Lucy or Ruby or Olivia. A grandmotherly name, because I’m sort of an old soul anyway. I’d love to change my name, but I think it might insult my mother, who choose my name. I guess I’ll stick it out for her.

      • March 29, 2011 5:23 pm

Ingrid, I just had the same ‘insight’ yesterday… the importance of not being defined by others and the power to re-define ourselves…

I know what you mean Spooky, I don’t want to insult my mama either, but she picked my name because it means ‘little tears’ – because she was crying all the time (for very good reasons) – and goodness knows I’ve shed oceans of my own… but I don’t really want to be carrying all that European tragedy/ drama around with me…

Psst: My ‘secret’ name is Gypsy Rose – cos that’s what I am/ love… 😉
        What’s your ‘secret name’?

I hate my name and always have the only reason I have it is because my God Mother whom I loved very much picked it out, it seems my Mother was over having childrena dn couldn’t be bothered and so “Aunty Kath” picked the name and got all the stuff that was needed for a new born baby, most of it hand made or knitted.
Since I’m grown up I’ve found that people have lengthened my name from “Kim” to “Kimberly” and though it’s not correct I’ll go along with it it’s somehow fancier.

I gave my children “Different” names so they wouldn’t be too boring so I have a Jasmin Elizabth and an Amber Lyn, and they both love their names and I’ve even been told by Jasmin that her friends think that she has “the coolest name” out of their group…..

My secret name is Mariah (not after the singer) but because it means Wind in Cherokee and I have a close relationship with the wind/air element!

Hi Spooky – love the journal shots you’ve posted to your blog… and the inside look at your brain too. 🙂 I got my postcard today and it’s awesome! Wasn’t expecting to get anymore so it was a really nice surprise.

Hope you and yours are all save from the latest horrible string of tornadoes.
